Introduction...
Background
My diverse career background (i.e., Medical Science, Business and Clinical Psychology) has definitely influenced my holistic therapeutic approach.
Relationship research was the clinical focus of my post-graduate studies, under the Supervision of Professor Kim Halford. Specifically, I investigated significant influences on relationship satisfaction in same-sex couples (B.Psych.hons); and the effectiveness of Cognitive-Behaviour Couples Therapy in treating relationship distress in same-sex couples (M.Clin.Psych).
Following my research and experience in varied clinical settings, I chose to work in private practice; where I felt I could make a greater impact on client well being. I have been happily running my practice for the past 10 years, taking professional development opportunities whenever possible.
In 2005, I graduated from Dr. Martin Seligman’s final ‘Authentic Happiness Coaching Master Class’; which strongly directed my ‘quality of life’ therapeutic approach. Building on this philosophy, I recently completed Dr. Michael Yapko’s ‘Comprehensive Training in Clinical Hypnosis & Strategic Psychotherapy’.
In addition to my private practice, I have also enjoyed an ongoing role as an Assistant Clinical Supervisor with Griffith University Psychology Department’s Post-Graduate Clinical Program, since 2003.
